About NAMA

The advanced manufacturing sector is changing. New innovative and digital technologies are constantly being developed.

Today’s and tomorrow’s employees need the right kind of mathematical skills to stay ahead of the curve and that’s where NAMA will help.

We are developing innovative training materials for educational providers that can be accessed for free on our portal. In addition, interactive tools are being created for both learners and employees that explain how and why mathematics is required in the real world in the right context.

Our goal is to improve the employability of learners who use our resources and create a highly skilled and capable workforce.

What is NAMA?

NAMA is a two year programme that will develop resources to improve numeracy skills in the advanced manufacturing sector’s workforce by showing mathematical skills in the context in which they will be used.

What will NAMA do?

NAMA will develop training materials for education providers and interactive tools for learners and employees, to increase numeracy skills in the advanced manufacturing workforce. These tools will explain why mathematics is required in the real world, and provide situational contexts of how to use it.

Why do we need NAMA and/or resources in numeracy?

We need NAMA because new innovative and digital technologies within the advanced manufacturing sector require a higher level of mathematical skills of employees and future employees. Giving easy-tounderstand, interactive perspectives of how to grasp diff erent branches of mathematics will ultimately improve employability of NAMA-learners and create a highly skilled and capable workforce.

How is it funded?

NAMA is funded by Erasmus+, which is the new EU programme for education, training, youth and sport. This new programme will focus on formal and informal learning across EU borders to improve the skills and employability of students, educators and workers.
